Ms Morris has been with the ABC for 10 years, including the past four on the national breakfast show, and the BBC for a decade prior.
On October 16, Ms Morris revealed it was her final week with the ABC.
"I've decided that it's time for me to look for other things," she said.
"It's pretty brutal getting up at 3 o'clock in the morning.
"And I'd like to be there when my kids get up in the morning and I'd like to not need to go to bed before they go to bed."
Ms Morris said it had been a privilege to work as a journalist.
"People let you into their lives on their best days and their worst days and it's just the most extraordinary privilege," she said.

"An absolutely superb finance presenter - you have helped guide our viewers through the cost-of-living crisis and so many other finance stories," Mr Rowland said.
Ms Millar said Ms Morris was a "force for good".
"You fight the good causes for people and when you look down that camera and are talking to our viewers you are motivated every time you start this shift," she said.
"We are going to miss your company so much."
